Japan Centre Retail is looking for a Social Media and Marketing Promotion Executive to join our marketing team and help grow our brands across social media, digital platforms, stores and restaurants.

This is a hands-on and varied role where you’ll have the opportunity to create engaging content, support exciting campaigns, coordinate events and promotions, and work closely with our Brand Designer, Area Manager, Sales, Operations and IT teams.

The Role

• Create, manage and schedule engaging content across Instagram, Facebook and other social media platforms, including photos and videos.

• Support the planning and delivery of marketing campaigns, promotions, food festivals, brand collaborations, events and new product launches.

• Develop creative content and promotional ideas to increase brand awareness, customer engagement and sales.

• Support the monthly email marketing calendar, including content creation and campaign scheduling.

• Coordinate free tastings, product sampling and promotional activities across our stores and restaurants.

• Assist with the planning and delivery of in-store and off-site events, seasonal celebrations and special product launches.

• Liaise with suppliers, brand partners and internal teams to coordinate promotional materials, samples and displays.

• Support press activity, including press meals, store tours, external PR agency communications and coverage reporting.

• Research competitors, customers, marketing channels and current trends across the retail, restaurant and food sectors.

• Help ensure consistent brand messaging, tone of voice and visual identity across all customer touchpoints.

• Support weekly and seasonal retail promotions and communicate campaign information clearly to store teams.

• Update Japan Centre websites and app platforms with current promotions, products, events, offers and news.

• Create promotional and digital assets using Canva, Photoshop or Illustrator, working with the Brand Designer where required.

• Capture photos, videos and customer feedback at events and promotional activities for future marketing use.

• Monitor marketing activity and contribute to monthly reports using POS systems and Google Analytics.

• Work with Design, IT, Sales and Operations teams to deliver marketing materials in line with brand guidelines.

• Support website updates and ensure promotional content, offers and information are accurate and engaging.

• Complete marketing administration and other reasonable duties as required.

About You

We’re looking for someone who is creative, proactive and organised, with a genuine passion for social media, content creation, marketing and Japanese food and culture.

You will ideally have:

• Previous experience managing social media for a business or brand.

• Strong content creation skills, particularly photography and video.

• Excellent written and spoken English.

• Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office and Google Workspace.

• Excellent organisation, time management and multitasking skills.

• A strong eye for detail and an ability to work to deadlines.

• Confidence communicating with customers, suppliers, agencies and internal teams.

• An interest in Japanese culture, food, retail and hospitality.

Desirable Skills

• Experience with Mailchimp, Hootsuite or similar marketing platforms.

• Experience using Canva, Photoshop or Illustrator.

• Japanese language skills.

• Experience in food, retail, hospitality, events or consumer marketing.
