Location: Uxbridge
Salary: £38,602.41 - £44,965.14 actual per annum
Hours: 40 hours per week, term time plus 120 additional hours across the year and staff training days
Contract: Permanent

We are working with a specialist educational setting looking for a motivated, flexible and innovative Band 6 Speech and Language Therapist to join their friendly and dedicated Speech & Language Therapy team.

This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced clinician to develop their skills within a specialist educational environment, working closely with teaching staff and other professionals to support the holistic development, independence and functional skills of young people.

The Role

• Deliver high-quality Speech & Language Therapy within a specialist educational setting
• Work closely with teaching staff to integrate therapy and learning objectives
• Support children and young people with a range of communication and functional needs
• Provide interventions around feeding, speech, language, social communication and Augmentative & Alternative Communication (AAC)
• Deliver interventions at universal, targeted and specialist levels
• Complete clinical assessments, treatment planning and implementation of therapy programmes
• Use standardised assessments and clinical observation to inform clinical decision-making
• Embed clinical interventions across students' school and home routines where appropriate
• Work closely with colleagues from other disciplines and contribute to a holistic approach to education and therapy
• Build positive relationships with children, teachers, parents and carers
• Promote positive behaviour within a nurturing environment
• Maintain high standards of clinical practice and contribute to the ongoing development of the service

About You

We are looking for a Band 6 Speech and Language Therapist who:

• Has Band 6-level experience or equivalent clinical experience
• Has confidence, enthusiasm and a genuine passion for learning
• Has experience with clinical assessment and treatment planning
• Has knowledge of standardised assessment and clinical observation
• Can develop and implement effective therapy programmes
• Is confident working independently while also contributing effectively to a wider team
• Can build strong relationships with children, young people, families and education staff
• Has an interest in working within a specialist educational environment
• Is able to promote positive behaviour through a nurturing and supportive approach
