Job Description

We are currently recruiting for an experienced 7.5T Driver / 7.5T Delivery Driver to join an established client in Ealing, West London.

This is a fantastic opportunity for a reliable 7.5T Driver with previous commercial driving, delivery driving or construction delivery experience.

As a 7.5T Delivery Driver, you will be responsible for the safe and timely delivery and collection of glass, glazed units, tools, building materials and construction materials to various sites across London and surrounding areas.

The 7.5T Driver will also be required to load and unload materials, assist with crane lifting operations and ensure all deliveries are completed safely and efficiently.

Key Responsibilities

• Work as a professional 7.5T Delivery Driver delivering glass and construction materials.

• Safely drive a 7.5T vehicle to construction sites and customer locations.

• Complete deliveries and collections as instructed by the logistics team.

• Load and unload the 7.5T delivery vehicle safely.

• Handle heavy, fragile and specialist materials with care.

• Deliver glass, glazed units, tools, building materials and construction equipment.

• Assist with vehicle-mounted crane operations when required.

• Assist with crane lifting and unloading at construction sites.

• Communicate with site teams, fitters and customers regarding deliveries.

• Plan suitable routes and manage delivery schedules efficiently.

• Complete delivery and collection paperwork correctly.

• Carry out daily checks on the 7.5T vehicle.

• Report any vehicle defects or mechanical problems immediately.

• Follow all company Health & Safety procedures.

• Use the correct PPE and follow site safety requirements.

• Assist with stock, equipment and consumable requirements when required.

• Support the wider delivery and logistics team when necessary.

Essential Requirements

The successful 7.5T Driver / 7.5T Delivery Driver must have:

• Full UK Driving Licence with Category C1 entitlement.

• Valid Driver CPC / DQC.

• Valid Digital Tachograph Card.

• Previous experience as a 7.5T Driver, HGV Driver, C1 Driver or Delivery Driver.

• Previous commercial driving or delivery experience.

• Good knowledge of UK roads, particularly London and surrounding areas.

• Experience driving a 7.5T vehicle safely and responsibly.

• Ability to carry out manual handling duties.

• Ability to load and unload a 7.5T delivery vehicle.

• Reliable and punctual approach to work.

• Professional attitude and good communication skills.

• Ability to work independently as a 7.5T Delivery Driver.

Experience as a 7.5T Driver within any of the following areas would be advantageous:

Glass deliveries

Glazed unit deliveries

Construction deliveries

Building materials

Construction sites

Logistics and distribution

Commercial delivery driving

Vehicle-mounted crane operations

Crane-assisted deliveries

Heavy or fragile material deliveries

London delivery driving

Working Hours & Pay

7.5T Driver position

Monday–Friday

7:00am–5:00pm

9.5 paid hours per day

£16.00–£17.00 per hour

Saturday work available

First 3 months self-employed

Following successful completion of the initial period, the 7.5T Driver will move onto a permanent PAYE contract.
